Overview
The minor in religion introduces students to the diversity of religious commitments, practices, and beliefs globally and equips them with the necessary tools to investigate, analyze, and communicate the role of religion in society.

Candidates for a baccalaureate degree must fulfill the requirements for a major as listed in the courses of study bulletin. The courses of study bulletin is the official source of information regarding degree requirements, academic policies, and academic majors and minors at Trinity University.

Pathways Curriculum

Students must complete the Pathways Curriculum in order to receive a baccalaureate degree. The Pathways Curriculum has six curricular requirements, and three optional elements that provide the foundation in the liberal arts and sciences for all the bachelor’s degrees awarded by Trinity University. Through these requirements, students acquire the necessary skills and disciplinary perspectives to navigate complex questions at Trinity and in their post-graduate lives.

This course examines the question of what religion is, including those aspects that today some people refer to as spiritual.
Gender and Religion
An examination of the cultural expectations placed upon women and men in various religious traditions.
Asian Religions
An introduction to diverse religious traditions of Asia, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Chinese religions.
Early Christian Literature Beyond the Canon
Explore the diversity of early Christianity by examining texts not included in what eventually becomes the canon of Christian scripture, the New Testament.
Buddhist Ecology
The examination of Buddhist conceptions of the interrelationship between humans and the environment, from early canon literature to modern Buddhist environmental movements.
Native American Religions
An overview of Native American religious traditions in the U.S., including revitalization movements, traditional dances, and modern Native religious thought.
